CHOP SHOP: Bodies of Work, A Contemporary Dance Festival offers a unique and rare opportunity to participate in master classes taught by the artists of the dance companies participating in the festival. The Master Class Series is open to dancers ages 12+ with a minimum of three years of dance training, with all classes taught at an intermediate/advanced level. 

Scholarships are available for young dancers ages 12 - 25! Learn more about the scholarship program and apply here.

1pm - 2pm              Eva Stone with Festival Artists:  Reading Dance* (FREE)

*Reading Dance is your chance to engage directly with festival artists as they discuss the craft of choreography. Join host Eva Stone and festival artists as they demystify and reveal the creative process behind contemporary dances. Participants will discover the type of movement language contemporary dance uses, learn different ways that dances are formed, and ask questions of the choreographers and dancers themselves. This lecture is offered free of charge and is open to all ages. Presented in partnership with the City of Bellevue. 

 

 

Pricing & Payment

Partcipants must sign a release form prior to attending classes and students under the age of 18 must have an adult sign for them. Class fees are due on or before the start of the Master Class Series and payment is accepted in cash only. Spaces are limited and reservations must be made for all participants. To reserve your place, please call 206.799.6004. Drop-in spaces on the day of the classes will be offered on a first come, first served basis, but are not guaranteed.
