Two classes are offered as part of the program:
Reading Dance is your chance to engage directly with festival artists as they discuss the craft of choreography. Join the dancers of The Stone Dance Collective and Artistic Director and choreographer Eva Stone as they demystify and reveal the creative process behind contemporary dances. Discover the type of movement language contemporary dance uses, learn different ways that dances are formed, and ask questions of the choreographer and dancers themselves. Reading Dance is open to all ages and abilities.
Introduction to Modern Dance is a fun dance technique class for those interested in learning basic modern dance movement vocabulary: no previous dance experience is necessary! Instructor Eva Stone will lead you through a series of dance exercises exploring the type of movement presented at CHOP SHOP: Bodies of Work. Introduction to Modern Dance is open to all over the age of 8 and all abilities. Please dress in comfortable clothing that's easy to move in.
